Sharing God's Love

Q. What does a church wedding cost?

There are certain fees set nationally for church weddings.

Calling Banns £31.00

Banns Certificate (only required when Banns are called for marriage in another church) £14

Marriage Service Fee £463.00

Marriage Certificate £11.00

The following fees are optional and apply for 2019/20:
Organist /CD operator  £80

If you have Bells the cost is £150

If you have the Choir £150

Should you wish to make a Video Recording of the service, the organist will charge an additional £80 in performing rights fees. Following a recent change in the law, this even applies to a guest making a video on their phone.

The Verger is the person who prepares the church, attends to guests, and clears up afterwards. We ask for £50 to give them.

Heating (generally October to March) £100

Church Flowers If you wish to have flowers of your choice in addition to those, or in place of those, that would normally be in church, they can be provided by one of our professional arrangers. Costs are negotiated by and paid directly to her.  Contact

Flower Fee (if using your own florist) £30

Running a beautiful mediaeval church is a very expensive business, and we invite a donation towards that, and if you are able to ‘Gift Aid’ this, it would be much appreciated.

We will be asking you for a £100 deposit at the time that you make your booking.  This fee is refundable in the event that your ceremony does not take place.  You will be sent an invoice nearer the time of your wedding date, and we require that to be settled at least one month before the date of your marriage.
