Visiting Canterbury
There is a charge to enter the Precincts (grounds) and the Cathedral during the above opening times, unless you are attending a service or have a Precincts Pass. The current charges are £15.50 per adult, but those aged 17 and under may enter for free. Tickets are valid for entry for 12 months from date of purchase.
You may be eligible for free entry to the Precincts if you fall under any of the following categories:
- Work in the old city of Canterbury
- Member of the Cathedral Congregation
- Cathedral Volunteer
- Member of any church in the diocese (on the parish electoral roll or equivalent)
Please note passes are for the named person only, and pass holders may be asked at the gate for additional ID. From January 2023 there will be a £6 charge for these 5-year passes.
